The newly elected President of the United States was Ronald Reagan. For a brief period of time we were not at war. The first personal computer was put on sale. AIDS was a mystery without a name. Big hair. Gigantic shoulder pads. MTV!
And the very first woman ever to serve on the Supreme Court, Sandra Day O’Connor, was nominated by the President.
