Dairy Arts Teen Council
Are you an artist, writer, musician, thinker, and/or community builder?
The Dairy Arts Teen Council is an active space for youth interested in community building, public programming, and the day-to-day operations of an arts and cultural organization. In this program, teens express and discuss ideas and create art relating to issues affecting young people today. Through planning of events and community engagement programs, members gain real-world experience. In addition to meeting and talking to Dairy Arts performers, artists and staff, the Teen Council promotes youth leadership in the arts and culture sector.
All high school students in the region are invited to join the Dairy Arts Teen Council. Ideal candidates are high school teenagers (gr. 10-12) who are eager to:
Dream up, organize, and lead programs for other teens to engage around art, music, film and theater
Develop friendships and work collaboratively with other arts-interested teens in a positive and inspiring environment.
Experience the inner workings of an arts center and make connections with Dairy Arts Center staff
Create and interpret art, music, theater and film
Strengthen communication, self-confidence, and networking skills
Make the Dairy Arts Center more accessible and relevant to youth audiences
Dairy Arts Teen Council meets weekly for discussions, brainstorming and planning sessions, as well as special insider tours and activities.
