Kids at the Dairy Program

Unleashing Creativity Through Engaging Arts Education!

Welcome to Kids at the Dairy, an innovative arts education initiative that sparks imagination and fosters learning for students in Title I Schools across Boulder County. Our program is all about bringing the magic of live performances to young audiences, ensuring every child has a chance to experience the arts, and empowering at-risk children with the tools they need to thrive.

This Spring, Boulder County kindergarten students are in for an engaging and educational experience with a diverse lineup of performers:

  • Jan 18 – Boulder Philharmonic: A Symphony of Emotions
Students experience the world of music and emotions with Boulder Philharmonic and special guest behavior therapist Megan Dare. Through music and art, students explore how to identify and express their feelings for a deep dive into social-emotional learning through art.

  • Feb 13 – Inside the Orchestra: Meet the Instruments
Inside the Orchestra brings their unique take on classical music performance by encircling students inside the orchestra. This interactive session invites students to meet the instruments, learn conducting, and move to the music.

  • March 5 – Streetside Dance: Grooving Through Hip Hop
Streetside Dance returns with their dynamic Hip Hop performance. Energetic and interactive, this session introduces students to the foundational elements of Hip Hop, break dancing, and the promotion of self-expression and rhythmic movement.

  • April 9 – Boulder Ballet: The Art of Movement
Students learn basic dance steps with professional dancers from Boulder Ballet. Through expressive dance, students witness the artistry of motion, discovering what it means to express yourself with your body and move to the music.

  • May 16 – MOTUS Theater: Journey into Self-Exploration
5th Graders join us at the Dairy for a curriculum-aligned journey of self-exploration with MOTUS Theater. Students take center stage for thought-provoking spoken word performances, an exploration of identity and self-expression; fostering a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.

Each of these performers is dedicated to providing an informative and engaging experience that will broaden our students’ horizons and foster a deeper understanding of the world’s diverse cultures and art forms. It promises to be a fall season filled with creativity, learning, and inspiration
