Local Theater Company presents a staged reading of Stockade by Andrew Rosendorf, directed by Nick Chase.
Five years after the end of WWII, a group of gay soldiers gather for a reunion of sorts on Fire Island—and are met by an outsider with a surprise that will cause them to question whether history is best left in the past. At a time when “security risk” is government code for “homosexual,” it will take courage for them to step out of the shadows and confront their past and future. Stockade is a thematic companion piece to the acclaimed, Henry Award-winning ‘Paper Cut’ (Local Theater Company, 2018). Stockade is sponsored in part by a generous gift from Lari and Tom Abraham.
Stockade was commissioned by Local Theater Company and is a companion piece to Andrew Rosendorf’s Papercut (Henry Award, Best Play 2018)
Stockade is presented as part of the Local Lab New Play Festival.
Join us after the reading for the Saturday Night Soiree.
