TALKBACK: Join us after the film on Wednesday, April 3 for a talkback with Cary Wolfson. Cary Wolfson has been an award-winning radio producer, magazine editor, publisher, writer and photographer. He is one of the pioneers of Boulder’s community radio station, KGNU-FM, where he produced Colorado’s first all-blues radio shows in the early ‘80s. He was the man behind KBCO’s Sunday night staple, “Blues From the Red Rooster Lounge,” for 32 years and has produced a syndicated version of that show since 1985. Among his other radio credits are the program “Blues Bites” for 105.5 The Colorado Sound and currently an eclectic bi-monthly show for KGNU, “Groovin’ for Geezers.” He has received two W.C. Handy “Keepin’ the Blues Alive” Awards from the Blues Foundation in Memphis, TN, for his work in radio and publishing, and was a presenter at the Handy Awards (aka “the blues Grammys”) in Memphis in 1987. Cary was the editor and publisher of BLUES ACCESS Magazine, a national- and world-acclaimed publication, from 1990 thru early 2002. He has been on the faculty of Common Ground on the Hill, a socially-conscious music and arts camp in Maryland, where he has taught classes in blues and photography and hosted an annual blues concert since 1997. Cary has lived in Boulder with his wife, Nancy, since 1973.
