Hildegard Speaks Film Premiere with Filmmaker-Pilgrim Michael Conti and Dr. Annette Esser

March 26 @ 7:30 pm

$15 – $18

TICKETS Delve into the wisdom and timeless teachings of Saint Hildegard of Bingen through the captivating film, “Hildegard Speaks.” Based on the writings of this revered mystic and polymath from the 12th century, the film presents a unique opportunity to hear Hildegard’s voice as theologian Dr. Annette Esser brings her to life.

For the screenings on March 26, Dr. Esser will be present for a Q&A session following the screening, alongside Filmmaker-Pilgrim Michael Conti. Additionally, Dr. Esser will be available to sign copies of her new books, “The Hildegard of Bingen Pilgrimage Book” and “Hildegard Speaks” which will be available for purchase.

Dr. Esser, a noted scholar on Saint Hildegard, portrays the saint herself in a series of nine texts where Hildegard candidly shares her insights and experiences. Set against the backdrop of the picturesque German countryside along the 130km Hildegard Way Trail, viewers are invited to accompany Hildegard on her spiritual journey.

The American filmmaker Michael Conti (creator of “The Unruly Mystic: Saint Hildegard) filmed these texts with Dr. Esser on an international pilgrimage in 2019.

As Dr. Esser guides us along the trail, viewers will gain only a deeper understanding of Hildegard’s life story but also valuable insights into her enduring wisdom. Through tranquil forests, hearty vineyards, and charming medieval villages, we traverse the same paths where Hildegard once walked, contemplating her teachings along the way.

The Hildegard of Bingen Pilgrimage Way trail, conceived in part by Dr. Esser, offers pilgrims and seekers a unique opportunity to connect with the spirit of this remarkable saint. Established in 2017, the trail winds through historic sites associated with Hildegard’s life, providing a sacred space for reflection and contemplation.

Join us on this extraordinary journey as we explore the legacy of Saint Hildegard of Bingen, discover the beauty of the German countryside, and uncover the inspiration behind the creation of the Hildegard Way trail.
