The Rev. Dr. Carl Hofmann (B.A. English, University of California Berkeley; M.Div and D.Min, Fuller Theological Seminary) is Senior Associate Pastor for Engagement and Congregational Care at Grace Commons Church in Boulder, where he’s served since 2002. In addition to teaching together on the subject, Carl and co-author Allan Harvey published a critique of Christian Nationalism entitled “Christ or Caesar: Church and Nation in Christian Perspective” in Spring 2023 (available on Amazon). Carl is married to Rupali and they have two young adult sons who live and work in Denver. Carl is a coffee and craft beer snob who loves to ride bikes on North Boulder County gravel.
