US Hwy 36 Mile Marker Installation Celebration

October 24 @ 5:30 pm

TICKETS

In January 2024, Junie Joseph-Colorado State Representative for District 10-Boulder, teamed with the NAACP Boulder County Branch to pass a HJR24-1003, which essentially allowed for the renaming of US Hwy 36 to be marked and referred to as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Highway through Boulder, CO.

The name designation successfully passed the legislation 69-0 in both Colorado State Chambers. The new designated signs were installed July 31st, at Mile Markers 32 and 37. Renaming a U.S. highway after Dr. King not only honors his contributions to civil rights but also serves as a reminder of the ongoing work needed to advance equality and justice.

To honor and celebrate this history making event/celebration, we invite and welcome our community to a festive evening of entertainment and cultural highlights.
