In loving memory, and with tremendous gratitude, we pay tribute to a very special person. Emery joined the Dairy Arts Center board in January 2024. In her short time with us, she passionately and generously supported numerous Dairy programs, including free community events, children’s arts education, and innovative experiences in artistic disciplines. She believed that the arts should be accessible and inclusive to all, and worked to make that a reality.
Emery Golson was a certified herbalist, philanthropist, mother, and farmer’s wife. She first became involved with philanthropy when joining the board of her family’s foundation in Kansas City in 2013. After years of learning more about the philanthropic sector, Emery began working with her brothers to change the philanthropic landscape. In 2020 they began The Hadley Project, an inclusive fund focused on social and racial justice. She also ran her own fund, The Radical Waves Project, working with other women in her community with a giving circle model. Emery was passionate about changing the current frameworks of traditional philanthropy–moving from a top down system to a bottom up approach.
Thank you, Emery, for your kind and generous heart. And your warm and loving friendship.
