Spotlight On: Access Gallery
February 23rd - March 30th
The Dairy Arts Center, in partnership with Access Gallery, presents an exhibition born from a screen printing workshop designed and led by artist Chinn Wang. Participants embarked on a creative journey, exploring personal symbolism under Wang’s guidance while learning a new artistic medium in celebration of Month of Printmaking!
Departing from traditional portraiture, participants delved into abstraction, crafting symbols from their unique life experiences. Through color, shape, and line, they discovered a powerful language of expression, connecting personal narratives with artistic exploration.
Central to the workshop was the challenge of redefining portraiture beyond facial features, prompting reflections on self-perception and identity. Led by Wang’s expertise, participants learned screen printing techniques to bring their symbols to life, culminating in collaborative ‘workshop portraits’ that celebrate artistic discovery and community spirit.
