– Glenn’s Pick by Glenn Webb, Director of Programs –
In my past life as a touring sound engineer, I unexpectedly found myself traveling to Weimar, Germany with a couple of days to kill between rehearsal and show. So I wandered through the birthplace of Bauhaus architecture and had a transcendent educational experience. Architecture exists in a context, such that a single Bauhaus building in an American neighborhood is an oddity, whereas these parts of Weimar redefine the reality of built spaces. The film Desert Utopia will give you a similar experience, only for midcentury modern architecture in the Coachella Valley. If you are not careful, you may forever look at houses differently.
