Dairy Arts Center

COVID-19 UPDATE 3/12/2020

Dear Dairy Patrons,

It was a little over a week ago when I sent out our first message to the public. Back then I really did think that handwashing, sanitizing and elbow bumps were going to be enough to stem the tide of this pandemic. But the more I listen to the epidemiologists and understand the nature of this virus and see the exponential growth charts, the more this sobering reality sinks in.

The Dairy Arts Center is a complex operation that includes our own programming, the programming of over 100 other organizations, plus several resident organizations, two of them with busy after-school programs. Not an easy operation to shut down quickly, but we too must do our part. The board and staff of the Dairy have made the difficult decision to cancel all performances and screenings until further notice, beginning Monday, March 16th.

We know this is the right choice, and we are all in this together. At the same time, I owe it to my fellow artists and administrators to mention that this decision will have a long term impact not just on the Dairy, but also on the many organizations listed below that were scheduled to present here over the next few months.

– 3rd Law Dance
