Found Collective founder, Emmy Swenson, said she created the Found Collectives Marketplace to celebrate and highlight local artists. She feels very passionately about connecting artists with one another and also to the community.
“I felt that there are so many people in Boulder who are craving connection. A day out like this is a reason to get dressed up and go out and connect with the community and local artists. Maybe meet a new friend, or old, or organically land in a conversation that connects you into what you’ve been looking for in business, common interest, or friendship.”
Emmy also said, “I’m a hairstylist of 16 years in Boulder and have grown such an incredible, large, and beautiful community. So many people that I meet that sit in my chair have such beautiful and unique offerings to the community, whether it be an art, an idea, a service, a healing modality, etc. I had to find a container to celebrate each and every one of these people! So here I am, throwing outdoor marketplace events that cover all the grounds of bringing the community together and supporting the local artists who deserve to be seen.”
Emmy feels that people have forgotten how to patron establishments and gather together with community at events in light of the pandemic. “I feel that this event brings the tangible back into our lives that have been mostly digital over the last few years. This event is permission to get out again and see and touch and experience life away from a screen. Boulder has such a strong community, and this feels like a great way, and a beautiful one at that, to bring people together amongst art, food, and music with a beautiful backdrop that is our home,” said Swenson.
