Can we communicate with the dead if we try hard enough? Hilda thinks she can, and she’s befriended Linda, an eccentric but persuasive medium to transport her to “the thin place,” the fragile boundary between the living and the dead.

Is Linda a con artist preying on the grief and suffering of the living, or is she bestowing the gift of believing upon her willing subjects?

Lucas Hnath’s brilliant play transforms the theater into an intimate seance, putting all of us who meet there into a very spooky state of mind.

A New York Times Critics’ Pick, The Thin Place won rave reviews when it was first produced in 2019.
