National Silent Movie Day: Battleship Potemkin

September 29 @ 7:00 pm

$7 – $14

TICKETS

Sept 29

Silent Movie Day is an annual celebration of silent movies. We believe that silent motion pictures are a vital, beautiful, and often powerful part of film history. With the most famous and most quoted film sequence in cinema history, Battleship Potemkin has inspired generations of filmmakers. In the midst of the Russian Revolution of 1905, the crew of the battleship Potemkin mutiny against the brutal, tyrannical regime of the vessel’s officers. The resulting street demonstration in Odessa brings on a police massacre. (Sergei Eisenstein, 1925, Soviet Union, 1:09, NR)
