Selected by Dairy members as this year’s Annual Member Movie Pick, Adaptation is a fitting selection from a community of artists, storytellers, and creative thinkers. A wildly inventive, funny, and deeply human film, Spike Jonze’s acclaimed collaboration with screenwriter Charlie Kaufman explores the challenges, anxieties, and unexpected breakthroughs that shape artistic work. Join us for this special member appreciation screening and discover why this singular film continues to inspire filmmakers, artists, and audiences more than two decades after its release.

About Adaptation:
Nicolas Cage is Charlie Kaufman, a confused L.A. screenwriter overwhelmed by feelings of inadequacy, sexual frustration, self-loathing, and by the screenwriting ambitions of his freeloading twin brother Donald (Nicolas Cage). While struggling to adapt “The Orchid Thief,” by Susan Orlean (Meryl Streep), Kaufman’s life spins from pathetic to bizarre. The lives of Kaufman, Orlean, and her book, become strangely intertwined as each one’s search for passion collides with the others’.
