In 2023, ten wolves were released to the Western Slope of Colorado for the first time since the species was eradicated from the state in 1940. Wolf reintroduction comes with great opportunity along with substantial challenges. To ensure the long-term success of wolf restoration, that includes for those living and working in wolf country, it is imperative we invest in on-the-ground conflict reduction strategies and focus on science-based, win-win solutions for ranchers and wolves.
The National Wildlife Federation and Working Circle are committed to finding lasting solutions for people and wildlife, and we hope you will join us for a free evening of learning and reflection with local ranchers, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and conflict reduction experts to:
~ Explore the realities of wolves and livestock on shared landscapes
~ Hear directly from a Colorado ranching family
~ Discover a better way forward for wolves, livestock, and people
