This year, the festival offers two separate collections of short films from up-and-coming filmmakers, featuring comedies, narratives, and animated films. In both Shorts Program #1 and Shorts Program #2, these international short films feature a wide variety of family relationship themes, some far from stereotypes with previously unimaginable story lines, while others portray both touching and hilarious scenarios. Many films are from Israel, and we have included three excellent French films which you are sure to appreciate. Be it a bris or a funeral, of the parent or the dog, secular or religious, Jewish family dynamics will unfold on the big screen in so many clever variations, some sure to provoke you, while others will surely make you laugh.
These always popular shorts programs were curated by Judith Dack and the 2025 Shorts Selection Committee.
