Tya Alisa Anthony | Interim Visual Arts Curator
Tya Alisa Anthony is an independent curator who treats exhibitions as instruments of visibility, connection, and change. Her curatorial practice brings artists and communities into meaningful dialogue, foregrounding historically underrepresented voices while challenging institutions to broaden whose stories are preserved, encountered, and valued. Drawing on extensive experience directing arts programs, Anthony develops exhibitions that pair rigorous research with deep relational care—honoring cultural memory, amplifying artists’ full creative range, and transforming galleries into spaces of belonging, exchange, and collective possibility.
Anthony is also an interdisciplinary artist, fine-art photographer, and writer whose practice explores memory, ancestry, mythology, the natural world, and personal transformation. Working across photography, collage, cyanotype, and hand-embellished processes, she considers how the body, land, and archival imagery hold stories of resilience and renewal. A summa cum laude graduate and valedictorian of Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design, Anthony has exhibited widely, and her work is held in the permanent collections of the Denver Art Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. She lives and works in Colorado.
