Join us for an evening of ekphrastic writing – a creative experience where art sparks the written word. Whether you’re a poet, fiction writer, memoirist, or simply curious, all genres are welcome. You’ll spend time exploring the current gallery exhibition, choosing a piece that speaks to you, and using it as the jumping-off point for your own writing.
Ekphrastic writing is the practice of responding to visual art through language – interpreting, imagining, and engaging in a creative dialogue across mediums. Prompts and light guidance will be provided, along with time to write, share (if you’d like), and connect with fellow writers in a relaxed and inspiring setting.
Cocktails and refreshments will be available at the Polk Café throughout the evening.
No experience necessary. Bring a notebook, your favorite pen, and a spirit of curiosity.
