SUMMARY:Local Theater Company Local Listens: Queer Lineage play readings
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nJoin us for staged readings of two new short plays inspired by the stories of LGBTQ+ Coloradans across generations. This event marks the culmination of our season-long project\, Local Listens: Queer Lineage. Tickets are pay-what-you-will. All are welcome! \nThroughout the season\, Local Theater Company brought together LGBTQ+ community members\, ages 19 to 92\, in facilitated story circles. These stories inspired the two 45-minute plays written by Steven J. Burge\, Julie Rada and Miriam Suzanne. \nFollowing the performances\, we invite you to stay for a facilitated conversation about the plays — an opportunity to reflect\, respond\, and continue the dialogue together. \nLearn more about the project and hear selected stories on our website. \nLocal Listens: Queer Lineage is supported in part by the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation\, the Alex Wilson Fund and Cassandra Simon. \nABOUT THE PROJECT\nLocal Listens is a community-inspired new play initiative that focuses on a single social issue for one year. In an increasingly-digital world\, Local Listens intentionally gathers community members in a room\, face-to-face\, for important\, informative\, and illuminating conversations. These story circles\, held at the beginning of every season\, inspire short plays that are presented at the conclusion of the season. In order to enrich the experience for you\, our audience\, throughout the season we showcase a traveling portrait gallery featuring story circle participants. Each portrait is accompanied with an audio recording of a story the subject shared. Listen to these stories and discover the humans behind these complex issues. A resource guide is provided\, offering unbiased context. \nResearch shows that people understand\, remember\, and act on complex social issues more effectively when they are conveyed through lived experience rather than abstract data. Stories increase empathy\, reduce resistance to difficult topics\, and foster shared understanding across differences making them a powerful tool for civic dialogue and social change. \nLocal Listens seeks to build bridges across the chasm of community divides.

SUMMARY:PEOPLE of the SACRED LAND Film Premiere & Discussion
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nWhat’s often missing from the conversations about colonization in the U.S. are rigorous\, comprehensive\, academically supported Native-led studies proving that— even through the lens of modern law— large areas of what we call the United States were truly stolen and remain illegally occupied. And nowhere in our country is the evidence and culpability more dramatic than in the state of Colorado. \nPEOPLE of the SACRED LAND follows Richard Williams (Oglala Lakota\, Northern Cheyenne) as he recounts the widely untold history of Colorado through the findings of the Truth\, Restoration\, and Education Commission (TREC) reports.

SUMMARY:“Teresita’s Dream” Film Screening: Cuba’s Battle Against Alzheimer’s with Live Q&A
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nPlease join us for a special screening of Teresita’s Dream\, followed by a live Q&A with Dr. William Blanchet. The evening will focus on a promising new treatment for Alzheimer’s disease called NeuroEPO\, which was developed by Cuba’s public biotech sector. More than 55 million people live with Alzheimer’s — but access\, visibility\, and support for NeuroEPO are blocked by U.S. sanctions and outdated Cold War policies. \nTeresita’s Dream follows the extraordinary story of Cuban scientist Teresita Rodríguez. When her mother is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s\, Teresita embarks on a deeply personal and politically complex journey to find a treatment – joined by a team of mostly women scientists. What begins as an effort to help her mother leads to a discovery that could change how the world treats this devastating disease forever. \nSet in the heart of Havana against the backdrop of Cuba’s world-class biotech sector and the relentless challenges posed by the U.S. embargo\, this film is a powerful story of scientific innovation\, love\, hope\, and resilience. \nDr. Blanchet is a Boulder-based physician whose open-minded approach to medicine led him on an unlikely journey from Colorado to Cuba.

SUMMARY:What the River Knows: Presented by Glen Canyon Institute
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nGlen Canyon Institute\, in collaboration with Crow Canyon Archaeological Center\, presents What the River Knows\, a Good Intentions Paving Co. documentary exploring the reemergence of Glen Canyon from the receding waters of Lake Powell reservoir. CORE’s artists\, comprising concertmasters\, principal orchestral players\, and distinguished quartet performers from Asia\, Europe\, and North America\, gather in Boulder to present innovative musical experiences that transcend time and culture. “COmpass REsonance… has unveiled a bold 2025–26 season as it completes its evolution from the 44-year-old Boulder Bach Festival. The announcement marks the first full season under its new name and mission\, following a legal rebrand in January 2025. The transition reflects a decade of artistic expansion led by pianist Mina Gajić and violinist-conductor Zachary Carrettin\, who took the festival’s helm in 2014. Under their direction\, programming has grown to encompass five centuries of music\, improvisation and cross-disciplinary collaborations. What’s your purpose? Where do you go from here? Maybe you lost yourself somewhere along the way? \nBoulder cyclist and entrepreneur Jay Crain had been having the same conversations over and over for the past six years with midlife friends. They were discussing concerns about physical and mental health\, careers and relationships\, facing their own mortality while caring for aging parents\, and particularly around a loss of identity. \nThis generation’s transition into midlife faces challenges and opportunities that feel different. \nGrinta for Life is based on Jay’s personal experience of coming back from a dire health situation by first reconnecting with his identity. \nHe’s developing the program with an old college buddy\, Dr. Greg Welk\, a Kinesiology PHD\, 25-year college professor at Iowa State University. He is a published industry expert who started his career at the Olympic Training Center. His lifetime of scientific\, evidence-based research became the foundation of Grinta for Life\, a program which guides people through: \n• reconnecting with their identity\,\n• rewiring their brain\,\n• rebuilding their bodies\,\n• on their journey to reclaiming their identity. \n  \nTHE SPONSORS: \nAdjacent Lab Media\nAdjacent Lab Media was founded by Jay and Donna Crain\, after 30 years of working together across fashion and technology. SUMMARY:Nosilla Dance Project Presents (un)Forgotten | Feb. 27 - Mar 1
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\n \nTO OBTAIN MARCH 1ST TICKETS\, PLEASE CLICK “MARCH 2026” FROM THE “PLEASE SELECT A MONTH” OPTION ON THE BUY TICKETS LANDING PAGE TO OPEN THE DROPDOWN LIST. \nWake Up! We’ve Been Here Before! \n“(un) Forgotten” is a bold evening-length dance production choreographed by Artistic Director Alli Jones that confronts war\, division\, and loss as urgent reflections of our present world. Through powerful imagery rooted in the history of the Holocaust\, the performance invites audiences to feel\, connect\, and recognize how cycles of hatred and silence repeat as memory fades. \nInvoking memory through movement\, dancers Cassy Clark\, Nicola Elder\, Angela Gumieniak\, Mira Kaplan\, Jethro Paine\, Claire Schlutt\, and Eva Wilder move through moments where escape and luck were once the only chances for survival. With a set crafted for this work by Justin Kalvin and costumes designed by former Naropa Arts Professor Joan Anderson and local artist\, acupuncturist Laurel Miller\, the work is brought to life with striking visual elements. “(un) Forgotten” invites a conversation about the consequences of forgetting\, the patterns we repeat\, and the histories we carry; it is a recollection of what our world was\, is\, and may be becoming. \nSunday\, March 1\, 2:00 PM: Pay What You Can ($5.75 minimum)
