Jeffrey grew up on a farm in Daisytown, Pennsylvania, about an hour south of Pittsburgh, surrounded by his big ethnic Eastern European family. Theatrics definitely ran in his mother’s family, and after starting on stage with summer stock at the age of 12, he was hooked. Having attended university as a musical theatre major, he was soon in productions all over the country. Somewhere along the way, a little over 20 years ago, he created the “gender illusion technician” character of Mrs. Eda Bagel and has raised over $1 million for charities across the US with “her.”
Professionally, Jeffrey has been involved with nonprofit management, event production, and community collaboratives for nearly 25 years. During his time working with Elevations Credit Union, he has won 2 national awards for community events and seminars.
Jeffrey and his husband Jeff Nytch moved to Boulder from Pittsburgh in 2009, and have been delighted in being in a close-knit, small community where they have been able to make a fast but lasting impact. Jeffrey also sits on the Board for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, as well as being the perennial president of his homeowners’ association. He thanks the fab folks at The Dairy for providing a distraction from the latter.
A natural fundraiser and community builder, Jeffrey is thrilled and humbled to be on the Dairy Arts Center Board. A community is only as strong as its Arts and Culture, and that starts with its smallest organizations and its independent artists.
