Gordon is a retired attorney. A graduate of Tulane Law School. He was in a Ph.D. program after law school in Communication Science and wrote a book about advocacy for lawyers and citizens. He and his wife were recently U.S.representatives in New Zealand for the annual international Humanist conference. He has written a book that is not yet published about the relationship of religion to philosophy and humanism. The book compares religion and humanism to comparative law, economics, historiography, public policy, linguistics, epistemology, ethics, and Constitutional law. He was recently featured in The Humanist Magazine as a secular philanthropist. He has served on the board of the ACLU in Missouri and Colorado, the Colorado Music Festival, and The Boulder Philharmonic.
