SUMMARY:Obex
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nIn pre-internet 1987\, Conor and his dog Sandy live a life of seclusion\, lost in the slow-rendering graphics of early Macs and televisions aglow with late night horror movie marathons. But when he begins playing OBEX\, a new and mysterious\, state-of-the-art computer game\, he finds himself trapped in a low-tech\, but high-stakes analog hellscape as the line between reality and game blurs. Audacious and uncanny\, writer-director Albert Birney’s OBEX is a delightfully skewed lo-fi fantasy. Shot in striking black and white\, this surreally nostalgic nightmare revisits the dawn of personal computing to reflect on the loneliness of our always-online present day. SUMMARY:FNWeird: Idiotka
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nIn this sharp\, irreverent comedy\, a disgraced fashion designer with a dangerously low credit score\, Margarita (Anna Baryshnikov) enters a reality show with a six-figure cash prize to save her babushka’s West Hollywood apartment. But as the competition intensifies\, slick producer Nicol (Camila Mendes) pushes her to spin her family’s struggle into spectacle\, forcing Margarita to decide whether to play along or take control of her own narrative\, one unhinged look at a time. SUMMARY:COmpass REsonance: Norwegian Wood (season finale)
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nNORWEGIAN WOOD with COmpass REsonance\nWhat unfolds when a pristine Scandinavian landscape inspires music\, brought to life by one of the most innovative and exhilarating string ensembles? \nCOmpass REsonance\, known as “Boulder’s CORE\,” presents an unforgettable performance inspired by Nordic Romanticism—and more!\nAudiences will experience the evocative Holberg Suite by the poetic Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg\, interwoven with a bouquet of varied gems. \nThis concert’s repertoire has been expanded with an intermission added\, to reflect that CORE’s December Merry Mozart concert was canceled due to severe winds and loss of electricity across the city. The program is now a combination of works from the canceled December program and the previously planned March program. Therefore\, the first half\nof the 3/21 concert includes Mozart’s dancing Divertimento in F Major\, and his heartfelt Piano Concerto K.413\, featuring Mina Gajić as piano soloist. Shorter works that refresh the aural palate include J.S. Bach’s timeless “Arioso\,” and “Norwegian Wood” by Lennon/McCartney—in a totally new version of The Beatles’ much adored classic. \nPROGRAM:\nSalzburg Symphony “Divertimento” in F Major\, K.138—W.A. Mozart\nLargo from Concerto in F Minor\, BWV 1056—J.S. Bach\nPiano Concerto in F Major\, K.413—W.A. Mozart\nIntermission\nNorwegian Wood—Lennon/McCartney\, arr. Billy Alvis\nHolberg Suite\, Op. 40—Edvard Grieg \nCOmpass REsonance (CORE) is a conductorless ensemble uniting acclaimed musicians from across the U.S. alongside Colorado’s finest talents. CORE’s artists\, comprising concertmasters\, principal orchestral players\, and distinguished quartet performers from Asia\, Europe\, and North America\, gather in Boulder to present innovative musical experiences that transcend time and culture. “COmpass REsonance… has unveiled a bold 2025–26 season as it completes its evolution from the 44-year-old Boulder Bach Festival. The announcement marks the first full season under its new name and mission\, following a legal rebrand in January 2025. The transition reflects a decade of artistic expansion led by pianist Mina Gajić and violinist-conductor Zachary Carrettin\, who took the festival’s helm in 2014. Under their direction\, programming has grown to encompass five centuries of music\, improvisation and cross-disciplinary collaborations. The group’s mission is “to enrich lives with performances of music from across time and cultures and to create distinct learning opportunities for musicians and audiences.” -Daily Camera

SUMMARY:“Teresita’s Dream” Film Screening: Cuba’s Battle Against Alzheimer’s with Live Q&A
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\n LIVE STREAM\nPlease join us for a special screening of Teresita’s Dream\, followed by a live Q&A with Dr. William Blanchet. The evening will focus on a promising new treatment for Alzheimer’s disease called NeuroEPO\, which was developed by Cuba’s public biotech sector. More than 55 million people live with Alzheimer’s — but access\, visibility\, and support for NeuroEPO are blocked by U.S. sanctions and outdated Cold War policies. \nTeresita’s Dream follows the extraordinary story of Cuban scientist Teresita Rodríguez. When her mother is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s\, Teresita embarks on a deeply personal and politically complex journey to find a treatment – joined by a team of mostly women scientists. What begins as an effort to help her mother leads to a discovery that could change how the world treats this devastating disease forever. \nSet in the heart of Havana against the backdrop of Cuba’s world-class biotech sector and the relentless challenges posed by the U.S. embargo\, this film is a powerful story of scientific innovation\, love\, hope\, and resilience. \nDr. Blanchet is a Boulder-based physician whose open-minded approach to medicine led him on an unlikely journey from Colorado to Cuba.

SUMMARY:What the River Knows: Presented by Glen Canyon Institute
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nGlen Canyon Institute\, in collaboration with Crow Canyon Archaeological Center\, presents What the River Knows\, a Good Intentions Paving Co. documentary exploring the reemergence of Glen Canyon from the receding waters of Lake Powell reservoir. As the West faces the urgent need to redesign water management\, we are offered the chance to restore one of the planet’s most stunning landscapes. What the River Knows explores this unique reflection point in a centuries-long history\, weaving together past and present to reveal a new way forward for the Colorado River. \nThe evening will open with Glen Canyon Rising\, a documentary short from Crow Canyon Archaeological Center featuring Hopi archaeologist Lyle Balenquah and author Craig Childs. This powerful visual and narrative experience reveals layers of human history embedded in the landscape. As water levels fall\, generations of cultural footprints are revealed\, and dormant ecological systems begin to stir once more. \nFollowing the film screening\, the event will conclude with a panel discussion and audience Q+A.
