DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nSept 24-28 \nIn the wake of a scandal involving several of her students\, Jeonim\, an artist and lecturer at a women’s university\, asks her uncle Chu Sieon to step in and direct a short play for the skit festival put on by her department. Her uncle is an actor-director\, recently blacklisted after a scandal of his own. He decides to direct the short play because of a similar experience directing a play at the same university 40 years earlier. It doesn’t take long before Sieon develops feelings for Jeonim’s colleague\, Professor Jeong\, a textile professor. Meanwhile\, the circumstances surrounding the scandal grow more complicated\, the moon waxes in the sky each night\, and every morning Jeonim goes to the stream and sketches to grasp its patterns. DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nTENETS is Raw Groove’s movement manifesto\, a full-bodied expression of the principles that guide our creative practice. \nDrawing from the fusion of Black diasporic dance forms such as Afrobeats\, Hip Hop\, House\, and beyond\, this work explores how movement holds memory. Each rhythm\, each gesture\, is part of a lineage: passed down\, reshaped\, and reimagined. These are our tenets. The foundations we return to. The structures we spring from. \nThis dance theatre production reflects our process of learning\, honoring\, and evolving. We study the roots and experiment by intertwining tradition with new patterns that excite and inspire. The result is something alive\, layered\, and future leaning. \nTENETS blends choreography with live music\, spoken word\, and comedy to create a rhythmically rich experience. It is a celebration of movement as philosophy\, memory\, and imagination.

Her background spans K–9 classroom instruction\, school leadership\, higher education teaching\, and the creation of innovative\, culturally relevant curricula. \nShe was the founder of the American Indian Academy of Denver (AIAD)\, a community-driven school that operated in Denver and was designed to serve Native American and Latino students. A thriving wild buffalo population would not only reconnect Blackfeet with a central part of their heritage\, spirituality\, and identity but would also provide economic opportunities and healing for the community. Along the way\, however\, the initiative faces obstacles from ranchers who see the buffalo as a threat to the cattle ranches that dominate the land and are a legacy of colonization.
