The program will feature a 45-minute moderated discussion followed by a 20-minute audience Q&A. She is a writer and director\, known for Husek (2021)\, Nosilatiaj. La belleza (2012) and Senda india (2024).

DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nIn this hands-on workshop with Bohemia Boulder\, participants will create a magical “meander book” by painting paper\, then folding and cutting it into a unique sculptural book form. Once assembled\, the book can be transformed with words\, drawings\, collage\, photographs\, keepsakes\, and personal imagery\, then finished with handmade covers and special fasteners. \nInspired by the themes of Off the Page: Language as Material\, this workshop inviting participants to experiment with storytelling\, memory-keeping\, mark-making\, and creative book structures. Using a variety of papers\, ephemera\, and found materials\, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind artist book that unfolds in unexpected ways and reflects your own experiences\, interests\, and imagination. \nAll materials will be provided\, including fine and found papers\, ephemera\, photographs\, natural materials\, and other creative treasures. Participants are also encouraged to bring personal photos\, mementos\, or paper materials they would like to incorporate into their book. \nNo prior experience is necessary. Suitable for adults\, teens\, and creative kids ages 10 and up. \nAbout Bohemia  \nBohemia is a creative collaboration between artists and educators Cindy Parker and Abby Sivy\, who share a passion for helping people reconnect with their creativity through hands-on\, process-driven art experiences. \nCindy Parker is a mixed-media artist\, writer\, and lifelong collector of found objects whose work incorporates words\, natural materials\, and treasured ephemera. DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nA community’s fears are stoked into paranoia by a mysterious force\, who uses the town to summon itself into their reality. But is it the residents of the fictional seaside town — or the audience — who is doing the summoning? \nUndertow is an improvised theater production\, featuring original music by Jared Allen Lacy\, that premiered at the 2026 Denver Fringe Festival. \nUndertow is a surrealist horror piece that uses thematic elements of the Weird and the Eerie (Lynch\, Vandermeer\, Eggers\, Danielewski\, etc.) to explore the psychodynamics of residents of a small coastal town who find themselves living under an authoritarian regime\, and the mutual reinforcement between community atomization and oppression.

Through that recognition\, we begin to build meaning\, connection\, and understanding. \nJoin Fireside Ink Writers Workshop for a unique writing workshop inspired by Off the Page at the Dairy Arts Center. Using artworks from the exhibition as a starting point\, participants will explore personal narratives through guided writing prompts\, close looking\, and conversation. This workshop invites writers of all levels and genres to discover how visual art can open a doorway into their own stories while deepening our sense of shared community. \nSurrounded by the artworks of Off the Page in the McMahon Gallery\, attendees will reflect on the images that resonate most deeply with them and use those responses as a springboard for creative exploration. Through a series of guided exercises\, participants will uncover personal connections\, memories\, and stories inspired by the work on view. \nYou’ll leave with fresh writing\, new tools for creative reflection\, and a deeper appreciation for the ways art can help us better understand ourselves and one another. \nNo prior writing experience is necessary. All genres and experience levels are welcome. \nAbout the Instructor \nBrenda Kahn is a Boulder-based artist celebrated for lyric-driven music that blends personal narratives with broader social commentary. She gained acclaim in the 1990s with her distinctive punk-folk sound\, earning a recording contract with Columbia Records and critical praise for her album Epiphany in Brooklyn. She has toured with musical greats including Bob Dylan and Jeff Buckley and is the author of Ode to Chores\, a humorous collection of verse about motherhood. \nHer 2024 single\, Alright OK\, is available on YouTube and Spotify. The production blends autobiographical storytelling\, “Hamlet\,” “King Lear\,” karaoke\, and audience engagement to explore the complex tension between choosing life and death—the “to be and not to be” of assisted suicide after a dementia diagnosis. \nIn “No Contract\,” Wilson uses humor & heart to prevent both the performance & her mother’s life from becoming a Lear-like tragedy. As Wilson says in Act One\, “My mother’s life was always supposed to be a romantic comedy\, a 1950’s musical\, except with lesbians dancing in the street. Air filtration used. 6 feet of space between performers and front row. 6pm performance. \n“No Contract” is a one-woman show exploring a mother’s request not to endure dementia. It asks: “is there a way to have dementia without tragedy\, when ‘to be or not to be’ is always the question?” \nCreated by Kirsten Wilson in honor of her mother and loved ones everywhere\, experiencing or caring for people with dementia. \n“No Contract” is a one-woman theatrical work written and performed by Motus Theater’s artistic director\, Kirsten Wilson\, about dementia in relation to her mother\, Marie Wilson—founder of ‘Take Our Daughters to Work Day\,’ LGBTQ+ leader\, author\, and equity-based feminist. \nThe dramatic ‘contract’ at the heart of this two-act performance is a mother’s request to be killed if she loses her mind to dementia. The production blends autobiographical storytelling\, “Hamlet\,” “King Lear\,” karaoke\, and audience engagement to explore the complex tension between choosing life and death—the “to be and not to be” of assisted suicide after a dementia diagnosis. \nIn “No Contract\,” Wilson uses humor & heart to prevent both the performance & her mother’s life from becoming a Lear-like tragedy. As Wilson says in Act One\, “My mother’s life was always supposed to be a romantic comedy\, a 1950’s musical\, except with lesbians dancing in the street. I will not let it turn toward tragedy.” \nThrough Wilson’s advocacy amid systemic failures in elder care\, the piece invites caregivers\, LGBTQ+ residents\, and aging Coloradans to see their experiences reflected and engage in community dialogue on equity\, dignity\, and end-of-life care.
