SUMMARY:Miroirs No. 3
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nJuly 29 – Aug 1 \nDuring a weekend trip to the countryside\, Laura\, a young piano student from Berlin\, miraculously survives a shocking car crash. Awakening in a nearby house\, Laura finds herself in the care of a local woman\, who tends to her with motherly devotion . As she recuperates\, Laura begins to integrate herself into the lives of the woman and her initially reluctant husband and son. By turns haunted and hopeful\, Laura and her adopted family reawakens to the world and comes to find a strange harmony together. However\, they cannot outrun the ghosts of the past\, which begin to stir\, as acclaimed director Christian Petzold (PHOENIX\, TRANSIT) spins a modern gothic fairytale about the lies we tell ourselves and the strange ways that grief\, connection\, and humanity bind and sustain us. SUMMARY:Mary Oliver: Saved By the Beauty of the World
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nJuly 29 – Aug 1 \nIf poetry had a pop icon\, Mary Oliver would be it. Celebrated best-selling poet\, Pulitzer Prize-winner\, lover of dogs and long walks in the woods\, openly queer but intensely private\, Oliver was America’s unlikely contemporary mystic\, stalking the ponds and forests of Cape Cod for nearly fifty years in order to open herself – and her readers – to the known and unknowable world. From a lonely childhood to literary fame\, Oliver’s life was shaped by devotion to nature\, paying attention\, and the long journey toward learning to love and to be loved. Her poems inspire liberals and conservatives\, atheists and believers\, naturalists and urbanites\, speaking directly to contemporary anxieties about attention\, presence\, and the human relationship with the natural world – issues that feel especially pressing in an era of climate crisis\, digital distraction\, and social fragmentation.  \nFeaturing interviews with her close friends\, including John Waters\, never-before-seen personal photos\, notebooks\, and correspondence from her archive\, and recitations of her work by Stephen Colbert\, Lucy Dacus\, Steve Buscemi\, and Oprah Winfrey\, Mary Oliver: Saved by the Beauty of the World considers the poet’s long lifetime of work in context\, capturing the uniqueness of her world and the natural beauty that inspired her. (Sasha Waters\, 2026\, USA\, 1:31\, NR) \nTALKBACK: Join us after the film on July 30th for a Talkback with Michele Battiste.\nMichele Battiste is the 2026-28 Poet Laureate of Lafayette\, Colorado. The author of four poetry collections\, Michele has taught poetry workshops across the U.S. and right here in Boulder. Her latest book\, The Elsewhere Oracle\, is a finalist for the 2026 High Plains International Book Award in Poetry and was long-listed for the 2026 Julie Suk Prize. Here third book\, Waiting for the Wreck to Burn (2019)\, won the Louise Bogan Award for Excellence in Poetry by Trio House Press. Michele received an MFA from Wichita State University and a masters of the arts degree in English from the University at Albany\, and her writing career has been supported by several organizations\, including the Jerome Foundation\, the Blue Mountain Center\, the Good Hart Artist Residency\, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She works for The Nature Conservancy in Colorado\, raising funds to tackle climate change and protect nature. \n

DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nThe devil arrives in a small village to recruit souls\, and business has never been better. Everyone is scrambling to bargain for something. Love\, riches\, and personal validation top the list. \nBut one woman is having none of it\, and she happens to be the woman whom everyone thinks is the town witch. \nJen Silverman’s reworking of the 1621 drama\, The Witch of Edmonton\, is wickedly funny\, surprisingly moving and dangerously entertaining. \nThe play poses the question\, “How much is a soul worth in a world where hope is increasingly hard to come by?” \n

SUMMARY:Exploring Book-ness Workshop
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nSurrounded by the artworks in Off the Page exhibition\, participants are invited to explore the many possibilities of what a book can be with Bohemia Boulder. \nFrom ancient scrolls to contemporary artist books\, this hands-on workshop examines the book as both a vessel for ideas and an artistic medium in its own right. Together\, we’ll challenge conventional notions of “book-ness.” \nDoes a book need pages? Does it need words? Does it even need to be legible? How can we stretch these boundaries to create a book that speaks in our own unique voice? \nParticipants will learn several folded book structures\, experiment with a variety of materials\, tools\, and mark-making techniques\, and explore the relationship between concept and material. Through playful experimentation and reflection\, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind book inspired by your own process\, experiences\, and imagination—using truly “off the page” approaches. \nNo prior experience is necessary. All materials will be provided. \n

SUMMARY:Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company (BETC): Witch | Aug. 6-23
