SUMMARY:VIVA Theater: Our Town
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nOur Town has been described by writer Edward Albee as “…the greatest American play ever written.” First performed in 1938\, the play has gone on to numerous revivals on Broadway and countless productions in theaters large and small around the world. Our Town won the Pulitzer Prize for its author\, Thornton Wilder. \nThe story follows characters in the fictional town of Grover’s Corners\, New Hampshire\, through events such as “Daily Life”\, “Love & Marriage”\, and “Death and Eternity”. The staging is famously minimal\, and the action is narrated by a person known only as the Stage Manager. The deceptively simple structure of Our Town veils the profound question at its heart: What is it like to be a human being during our short time on Earth?\nMoving\, universal\, and complex\, the play reminds us of our shared humanity.

SUMMARY:FNW: Tall Tales
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nFollowing the recent announcement of their debut collaborative record “Tall Tales” (out 9th May via Warp Records)\, pioneering electronic musician and producer Mark Pritchard and Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke are sharing this cinema event in which fans will be able to hear the album alongside its accompanying feature film. An effective third member of the group\, visual artist Jonathan Zawada – whose multi-faceted approach to melding analogue and digital techniques have seen him work alongside the likes of Coachella\, Flume\, The Avalanches\, Royksopp\, and Dua Lipa – directed\, animated\, and edited the “Tall Tales” visual experience. The groundbreaking production was developed over the past few years in tandem with the evolution of the music\, juxtaposing it with uneasy landscapes of natural beauty and the brutal aesthetics of a dystopian world. Through Yorke’s lyrics\, Pritchard’s atemporal compositions and Zawada’s visuals\, “Tall Tales” questions where our insatiable appetite for ‘progress’ might have landed us. A prophetic cinematic experience\, “Tall Tales” has been years in the making\, but delivered right on time. (Jonathan Zawada\, 2025\, UK\, 1:04\, NR) \n

SUMMARY:Mother's Day with Hazel Miller and the Collective\, and Soda Blue
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \n\nColorado-based music icon Hazel Miller has a reputation for “bringing it” whether the event is a club setting\, concert\, festival\, or non-profit fundraiser. Hazel has toured North America\, Europe\, the Far East\, the Middle East\, and Central America. Her powerful voice stands out and her beautiful spirit shines through to the delight of her loyal fans. With one of the tightest and most versatile bands on the scene\, this show will please not only Mom\, but the whole family. \nSoda Blue is a musical group based on the quirky and unorthodox\, 37 year friendship between David Fermanich and Alice Frisch. David loves pop music from almost any era: most especially performers like Paul Simon\, the Everly Brothers\, and The Ventures. Alice loves blues\, classic rock and R&B tunes\, so you’ll hear her break into songs such as Chuck E’s In Love\, Green River and Chain of Fools. We both love silliness and making you smile so\, we like to keep things a little random. Occasionally…someone might even break into a kazoo solo. You never know what you’ll get! \nYour ticket includes a dessert buffet\, flowers for the mothers\, and a complimentary glass of prosecco (for those of age.)

SUMMARY:My Name is Alfred Hitchcock
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nMay 14-18 \nA century after the debut of Alfred Hitchcock’s first feature\, he remains one of the most influential filmmakers in the history of cinema. But how does his vast body of work and legacy hold up in today’s world? Mark Cousins\, the award-winning filmmaker behind Women Make Film\, The Storms of Jeremy Thomas\, and The Story of Film: A New Generation\, tackles this question and looks at the auteur with a new and radical approach: through the use of his own voice. As Hitchcock rewatches his films\, we are taken on an odyssey through his vast career — his vivid silent films\, the legendary films of the 1950s and 60s and his later works — in playful and revealing ways. SUMMARY:Sew Torn
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nMay 14-18 \nA seamstress gets tangled in her own thread after stealing a briefcase from a drug deal gone bad. In an escalating game of cat and mouse\, her different choices lead to drastically different outcomes along the way. SUMMARY:FNW: The Rule of Jenny Pen
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nArrogant Judge Stefan Mortensen (Geoffrey Rush) suffers a near-fatal stroke\, leaving him partially paralyzed and confined to a retirement home. Resistant to the staff and distant from his friendly roommate\, Mortensen soon clashes with seemingly gentle resident Dave Crealy (John Lithgow) who secretly terrorizes the home with a sadistic game called “The Rule of Jenny Pen” while wielding his dementia doll as an instrument of cruelty. DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nPeter Liu is a Boston-based stand-up comic with a passport full of stamps and a set full of punchlines. Raised in China\, Australia\, New Zealand and New Jersey (yes\, really)\, Peter brings an outsider’s eye and an insider’s charm to every stage he steps on. Whether he’s roasting cultural norms\, navigating the dating world\, or unpacking life with his wonderfully weird relatives\, Peter keeps the crowd laughing and guessing the whole way through. \nKatie Bowman is an artist\, stand-up and improv comedian based out of Denver. Bowman strives to connect with the audience with bits about her life as a social underdog using voices and act outs. She just released her first comedy album\, Neurodivergent Nightmare that hit number one on Itunes and Amazon the week it came out. \nBrad Galli is a stand up comedian based in Denver\, CO. His act centers around his personal life\, social commentary\, and the trials of working in the service industry. Brad has appeared on the High Plains Comedy Festival and has opened for the likes of Doug Stanhope\, Sam Tallent\, and Rhea Butcher. \nAli Kareem is a stand-up comic based in Denver. He’s a 3x finalist for The Best Comedian in Omaha presented by the Omaha Entertainment Arts & Awards Committee and won the Omaha Funnybone Clash of Comics. Featured on High plains Comedy festival (twice)\, Boulder Comedy festival\, and Fountain comedy festival. Originally from Baghdad\, Ali worked as an interpreter for the United States Military in Iraq\, which helped him obtain U.S. citizenship. He can be seen performing all over Colorado. \nHosting will be Cara Leoni. Cara is an educator\, comedy writer\, producer\, and entertainer. She co-produces several staple Colorado comedy shows\, including the Colorado Queer Comedy Festival\, The Matriarchy at Rise Comedy Club\, The Assembly at New Belgium Brewery\, and the game show Shrimp Tank.

SUMMARY:Misericordia
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nMay 21-25 \nThe teasingly entwined ambiguities of love and death continue to fascinate Alain Guiraudie (Stranger by the Lake)\, who returns with a sharp\, sinister\, yet slyly funny thriller. Set in an autumnal\, woodsy village in his native region of Occitanie\, his latest follows the meandering exploits of Jérémie (Félix Kysyl)\, an out-of-work baker who has drifted back to his hometown after the death of his beloved former boss\, a bakery owner. Staying long after the funeral\, the seemingly benign Jérémie begins to casually insinuate himself into his mentor’s family\, including his kind-hearted widow (Catherine Frot) and venomously angry son (Jean-Baptiste Durand)\, while making an increasingly surprising—and ultimately beneficial—friendship with an oddly cheerful local priest (Jacques Develay). In Guiraudie’s quietly carnal world\, violence and eroticism explode with little anticipation\, and criminal behavior can seem like a natural extension of physical desire. The French director is at the top of his game in Misericordia\, again upending all genre expectations. (Alain Guiraudie\, 2024\, France\, 1:44\, NR) \n\n

SUMMARY:Women & the Wind
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nJune 4-8 \nThree women ignite the flames of curiosity and adventure which lay dormant within so many of us\, by deepening our understanding of the synergy between nature and humanity—and by doing so radically\, through a voyage across the North Atlantic on a 50-year-old wooden catamaran. Tracing the flow of drifting plastic pollution throughout 30 days of calms\, storms\, setbacks\, and unimaginable scenery\, they witness the ever-changing state of the sea\, in all its splendor\, and duality—shifting between gentleness and rage—reflects our own humanity and opens us to contemplation on our relationship with the most unknown parts of ourselves and the planet.
