Since relocating to Colorado\, he’s become a regular in the local scene\, performing at clubs\, festivals\, and showcases across the state. With a voice that’s both authentic and relatable\, George continues to connect with crowds while carving out his place in stand-up. \nMiriam Moreno is a Denver raised comedian. Her humor makes any dark topic seem laughable. She’s been featured on High Plains Comedy Fest and has won the Phone it In sketch contests several times. She is the host of Good Night Denver. \nHouston native Julie Talbot is a queer stand-up comedian sent to save stand-up from its sins. \nPriscilla Dann-Courtney is a psychologist and writer. She and her husband of 42 years raised three children. And she likes to say even though we are all growing older\, the emphasis has to be on the growing and doing new things. So at 68\, she started standup comedy to remember the importance of laughter and the challenge of making ourselves BIG and center stage. Her columns have appeared in numerous national publications\, and her book\, Room to Grow\, Stories of Life and Family (Norlights Press\, 2009) is a collection of her essays. She dreams of becoming a peach farmer\, bringing sweetness and healing to a struggling world. \nCara Leoni is an educator\, comedy writer\, producer\, and entertainer. She produces several staple Colorado comedy shows\, including the Colorado Queer Comedy Festival\, Groovy Giggles at Diebolt Brewery\, The Assembly at New Belgium Brewery\, and the game show Shrimp Tank.\n\n\nAnd your host\, the founder of the Boulder Comedy Festival\, Zoe Rogers.

These story circles\, held at the beginning of every season\, inspire short plays that are presented at the conclusion of the season. A resource guide is provided\, offering unbiased context. \nResearch shows that people understand\, remember\, and act on complex social issues more effectively when they are conveyed through lived experience rather than abstract data. Stories increase empathy\, reduce resistance to difficult topics\, and foster shared understanding across differences making them a powerful tool for civic dialogue and social change. \nLocal Listens seeks to build bridges across the chasm of community divides.

It follows the quest for belonging by 13-year-old Metok Karpo to find her father in her native grasslands- spotlighting a young girl living tenaciously in a society undergoing radical transformation. The title refers to Tebatan children living on the plateau\, a place closest to the sun on earth\, in the hopes that they will have a bright future. \nKhashem Gyal is an award-winning filmmaker from the Amdo region of Tibet. In 2018\, he was nominated for the Adeste Gold Medal\, recognizing global citizens under 40 who help us ‘dream bigger.’ He is currently an Asia in Action Artist at the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University.
