SUMMARY:Good Boy | Nov 7
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nNov 7 \nOur canine hero\, Indy\, finds himself on a new adventure with his human owner—and best friend—Todd\, leaving city life for a long-vacant family home in the country. From the start\, two things are abundantly clear: Indy is wary of the creepy old house\, and his affection for Todd is unwavering. After moving in\, Indy is immediately vexed by empty corners\, tracks an invisible presence only he can see\, perceives phantasmagoric warnings from a long-dead dog\, and is haunted by visions of the previous occupant’s grim death. When Todd begins succumbing to the dark forces swirling around the house\, Indy must battle a malevolence intent on dragging his beloved Todd into the afterlife. (Ben Leonberg\, 2025\, USA\, 1:12\, PG-13) \n\n

SUMMARY:Boulder Environmental Nature Outdoors Film Festival: Preserved
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nIn an era of wildfires\, drought\, and species decline\, Vermejo is proof that restoration is possible. And it’s a blueprint for where it can happen next.  \n\n\n\nThis land\, a 560\,000-acre reserve in northern New Mexico that has been home to Indigenous communities\, roaming bison\, elk\, and antelope since time immemorial\, has seen civilizations rise and fall. In the 19th century\, mining came\, leaving behind landscapes stripped by time and scarred by industry. But now\, something remarkable is happening. \nIn 1996\, media mogul Ted Turner bought this land. Working with science and nature\, Vermejo’s passionate stewards helped restore the land to a place of thriving biodiversity and teeming life—from bison and wildcats to urban dwellers escaping to the outdoors. \nShot over 130+ days in this breathtaking landscape\, PRESERVED unveils the hidden sanctuary and its unseen wildlife behaviors—bears stealing mountain lion kills\, microscopic worlds thriving in water-filled potholes\, and animals adapting to a changing planet. Scientists\, ranchers\, and leading conservationists have come together to help achieve the seemingly impossible—from North America’s largest trout restoration to the return of beaver\, elk\, and bison. Vermejo\, deep with discovery and abundant human history\, is a bellwether for what’s possible everywhere. \nYear: 2024 | Filmmaker: Ben Clark | Runtime: 94 minutes \nPresented by the Boulder Environmental Nature Outdoors Film Festival AND DAIRY ARTS CENTER. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQ&A with director Ben Clark \n\n\n\n\n\nDirector Ben Clark is an adventure filmmaker and former Himalayan ski mountaineer. He directed The Snowman Trek\, a documentary on Bhutanese and ultrarunners’ high-altitude collaboration\, which screened in 400 theaters. The youngest person to lead a successful Everest expedition\, Ben has filmed stories around the world highlighting endurance\, climate\, and exploration. He is a member of the Protect Our Winters Creative Alliance. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf You Love The Land\, It Loves You Back

SUMMARY:Mistress Dispeller | Nov 19-23
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nNov 19-23 \nIn China\, a new industry has emerged devoted to helping couples stay married in the face of infidelity. As Teacher Wang attempts to bring a couple back from the edge of crisis\, sympathies shift between husband\, wife and mistress while emotion\, pragmatism and cultural norms collide in this spellbinding look at modern love. SUMMARY:Continuum Opening Party
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nCelebrate the opening of the Continuum exhibition with an evening of art\, music\, and connection. Enjoy a live DJ set by Internaleyes\, drinks\, and conversation as you explore a powerful exhibition reflecting on the cycles of life\, death\, aging\, and the enduring threads that connect us all. \nA continuum is a continuous range or series where things blend seamlessly into one another — like the shifting colors of a rainbow\, where no single shade ends and another begins. We often divide life into stages — youth\, adulthood\, old age\, life\, and death — as though separate from nature’s cycles. But everything moves in loops: death nourishes new life\, time is both linear and infinite\, and aging is only the visible surface of a more fluid human experience. \nContinuum explores how art can spark connection\, conversation\, and community around these shared truths — the knowns and unknowns of living\, dying\, and everything in between. The exhibition brings together artists of different generations and disciplines to explore themes of identity\, memory\, selfhood\, the body\, grief\, loss\, family histories\, and spirituality. At its core\, Continuum is about love — love that crosses time\, generations\, and boundaries both real and imagined. \nAbout the Music: Internal Eyes \n\nComing to fruition in the beginning of 2025\, Internal Eyes is a producer\, song-writer\, and DJ based out of Boulder\, CO. He draws inspiration from the surrounding beauty of mountainous terrain\, deep blue skies\, and nature’s inhabitants. Flowing water\, birds\, crickets\, and natural instruments embody the sound of Internal Eyes\, supported by deep low ends and atmospheric melodies. Originally from the East Coast\, Internal Eyes has a foundational background in hip-hop and house music genres\, blending the two with an organic feel to create a sound that captures attention and brings life to textural landscapes.\n\nExhibiting Artists & Spaces \nMcMahon Gallery: Kaori Takamura\, Shapes of Ephemera\nHand Rudy & Caruso Galleries: Kristen Letts Kovak\nPolly Addison Gallery: Lina Pin\nDairy Lobby: Laura Mackie\nMacMillan Gallery: The Continuum Intergenerational Arts Project\nEmbassy Suites Hotel Boulder: Lisa Berley \nFree and open to the public!

SUMMARY:The Librarians | Nov 26-30
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nNov 26-30 \nLibrarians emerge as first responders in the fight for democracy and our First Amendment Rights. As they well know\, controlling the flow of ideas means control over communities. \nIn Texas\, the Krause List targets 850 books focused on race and LGBTQIA+ stories – triggering sweeping book bans across the U.S. at an unprecedented rate. As tensions escalate\, librarians connect the dots from heated school and library board meetings nationwide to lay bare the underpinnings of a large-scale coordinated extremist movement fueling the censorship efforts. \nDespite facing harassment\, threats\, and laws aimed at criminalizing their work – the librarians’ rallying cry for freedom to read is a chilling cautionary tale. SUMMARY:Mr. K | Nov 28
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nNov 28 \nTraveling magician Mr. K (Crispin Glover) is down on his luck. Business is slow\, and the few gigs he’s picked up along the road have left him adrift. After spending the night in a remote hotel\, he is alarmed when he discovers that he is unable to find the exit. As he explores the maze-like corridors\, he hears strange noises and encounters a series of curious inhabitants who have formed their own factions within the walls of the hotel. Alone and afraid\, he starts mapping out the corridors\, desperately hoping to get to the bottom of the building’s layout before it is too late. Stuck more hopelessly than ever and about to give up\, he makes a bizarre discovery that will change everything. Starring the ever-eccentric Crispin Glover\, this Kafkaesque mystery offers a bold new take on falling down the rabbit hole. (Tallulah Hazekamp Schwab\, 2025\, Netherlands\, 1:36\, NR)

SUMMARY:Orwell: 2+2=5 | Dec 3-7
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nGeorge Orwell was one of the most radical and visionary authors of the 20th Century\, whose 1940s novels\, such as 1984 and Animal Farm\, foretold a chilling\, all-too-believable authoritarian future that has become scarily prescient in our modern era. Acclaimed director Raoul Peck (I Am Not Your Negro)\, working in collaboration with the Orwell Estate\, seamlessly interweaves historical clips\, readings from Orwell’s diary\, cinematic references\, and dynamic modern day footage to craft not only a definitive portrait of the writer himself\, but an entirely fresh take on how remarkably relevant and prophetic his work has become. Featuring award-winning actor Damian Lewis as the voice of Orwell. (Raoul Peck\, 2025\, USA/France\, 1:59\, R) \n
