Here we have universal themes of spirituality\, oppression\, resilience\, love and hope. The original concept was to write modern roots music that would pay homage to the Black American experience of the early-mid 20th century. This music is steeped in the blues with a nod to folk\, jazz\, blues-rock and soul music.
