Backporch Series at the Dairy Arts Center loading dock. Social distanced seating and masked required. Bring your own chair!
Come round to the back of the Dairy on an afternoon or evening for a live performance. We use our loading dock as a stage, and our shaded parking lot for a safely distanced and masked audience area, to enjoy the irreplaceable experience of real live people putting on a show. Beyond your attendance, we ask that you help us create the space for this to happen by following the appropriate guidelines, protecting yourselves and each other in the communal act of art appreciation with mutual respect. Each party will maintain a safe distance from others, as marked on the asphalt, and wear a face-covering at all times. Let this be an example of how our community holds each other up in times of need.
Concessions including beer and wine will be available for purchase with credit card only.
We will be collecting a cell phone number for your reservation at the time of check out. We will only use this number in the case of emergency instructions via text message such as a weather delay.
Everybody Loves An Outlaw brandish grit in spades. The Texas-bred and Colorado-based duo—Bonnie Sims [voice] and Taylor Sims [guitar]—strain soul-quaking vocals through muscular feedback, dusty beats, and a succulent twang. Generating over 20 million-plus streams in a few months’ time and receiving plugs from Rolling Stone, Idolator, and more, the group pick up strands of country, rock, and blues like a tumbleweed rolling through the desert.
As fate would have it, the Texas natives met at music school, fell in love, graduated, got married, and moved to Colorado. For nearly a decade, the couple slogged it out in various projects, logging thousands of hours and countless gigs in bars, clubs, theaters, and anywhere else with a stage. In 2017, the musicians officially launched Everybody Loves An Outlaw. Many more shows followed before they hit the studio with producer Robbie Nevil during 2018 to record what would become their independent debut EP, I See Red. Along the way, they landed high-profile syncs in shows such as Vampire Diaries. Their quiet grind paid off in a big way during 2020. “I See Red” piped through a key and climactic scene in the unexpected NETFLIX smash 365 DNI, which dominated the streaming platform. In a matter of weeks, the song tallied 16.5 million Spotify streams, inspired countless Tik Tok creates and received widespread acclaim. Idolator pegged it as a “Future Hit,” and Rolling Stone dubbed it “one of the film’s most iconic tracks.” Defying the rules, Everybody Loves An Outlaw turned a traditional come-up into a decidedly modern phenomenon. Now, the pair exude nothing but attitude.
Opening the show will be Colorado roots music mainstay Greg Schochet, of such bands as Halden Wofford and the Hi-Beams, and Katie Glassman and Snapshot. He’ll be joined by bassist Conner Hollingsworth.
