POSTPONED

– Jayme Stone Trio – Backporch Series at the Dairy Arts Center loading dock rain or shine. Social distanced seating and masked required. Bring your own chair!

Come round to the back of the Dairy on an afternoon or evening for a live performance – rain or shine. We use our loading dock as a stage, and our shaded parking lot for a safely distanced and masked audience area, to enjoy the irreplaceable experience of real live people putting on a show. Beyond your attendance, we ask that you help us create the space for this to happen by following the appropriate guidelines, protecting yourselves and each other in the communal act of art appreciation with mutual respect. Each party will maintain safe distance from others, as marked on the asphalt, and wear a face-covering at all times. Let this be an example of how our community holds each other up in times of need.

Concessions including beer and wine will be available for purchase with credit card only.

We will be collecting a cell phone number for your reservation at the time of check out. We will only use this number in the case of emergency instructions via text message such as a weather delay.

Jayme Stone Trio
Jayme Stone (voice, electric guitar, banjo)
Paul Fowler (keyboards, voice)
Greg Harris (percussion, synth)

This concert will feature three world-wise local musicians playing genre-defying songs and tunes. From Sea Island spirituals to West-African kora music and original synth-pop ballads to covers of songs by Randy Newman and Rufus Wainwright, their music is entrancing and surprising.

Jayme Stone is a musician, composer, instigator, producer, and educator. On any given day, you might find him in his studio reworking a little-known hymn learned from a field recording, producing a session with musicians from Bamako or New York, creating experimental soundscapes, or tucking his kids in on time so he can get back to writing the next verse of a new song.

Paul Fowler’s music will “work on you from the inside out” (Philadelphia Inquirer). Fowler integrates old and new into “emotionally intense” (Washington Post) works which are “radiant, ghostly and shimmering” (New York Times).

Multi-Instrumentalist Greg Tanner Harris leads the “Greg Harris Vibe Quintet,” and is a member of Bluegrass legend Pete Wernick’s Flexigrass, hip-hop/jazz/soul group Future Jazz Project, New World Citizen Band, 9th & Lincoln Orchestra, and SuperCollider. Among his work as a studio musician, he has released 5 albums.
