Nov. 25-Dec. 4 – Viva Theater presents HARVEY, the Pulitzer Prize winning comedy starring Harvey, a giant invisible rabbit, and his mind-mannered best friend, Elwood P. Dowd. This timeless classic, full of good-natured humor and screwball moments, touches on the importance of kindness, friendship, and the acceptance of differences. Written by Mary Chase, a life-long Denverite, this play was first produced on Broadway in November of 1944 where it ran for almost five years. Chase later adapted the play for the 1950 film starring Jimmy Stewart.
HARVEY will be produced as a “VIVA Radio Theater” show, a popular format, with live actors performing as if in a 1944 broadcast studio. Live sound effects, period commercials, and other delightful surprises await audiences who come see this beloved play.
