Veterans Journey Home: “On Black Mountain” and “Solutions”

TicketsJune 2 – This compelling series explores personal stories that more deeply personalize the challenges Veterans face on return from service, while offering solutions to a true national crisis. Together, Veterans Journey Home suggests visionary yet achievable medical, psychological, and community alternatives to close the gaps left by our overburdened institutions. This evening will include two of the five films: On Black Mountain (49 min) and Solutions (15 min), and a post-screening discussion with the filmmaker, Frederick Marx, and other special guests.  In On Black Mountain 22 women Veterans transform Military Sexual Trauma and other abuses through a 4-month meditation/mindfulness-based healing retreat.  Solutions is the philosophical underpinning to the entire five-part series. The greatest minds highlight community-based, non-medicalized solutions for Veterans returning home.
