“The Visitor” is a reimagining of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s “Teorema.” A Black refugee washes up naked in a suitcase on the bank of the Thames. Simultaneously, other identical refugees emerge from suitcases around London. Dressing in a homeless man’s clothes, the first refugee introduces himself to the Maid of a bourgeois, upper class family. Posing as her nephew, he is invited to stay on as an employee. The Visitor then proceeds to seduce each member of the family in a series of explicit scenes. Each member of the family confesses to the Visitor how he has changed them, and in subsequent scenes, each of them undergoes some kind of extreme form of sexual and spiritual transformation.
