SEPTEMBER 19 2 PM & 5 PM, IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL TICKETING OPTIONS
IN-PERSON TICKETS VIRTUAL TICKETSMotus Theater presents the national premieres of Boundless Truth: Women’s Stories of Freedom and Incarceration. In these two unique performances, one group of monologists at 2pm and another group at 5pm, 7 Black women leaders who were formerly incarcerated tell autobiographical stories about the damage done in the name of justice. With musical responses by Colorado’s famed Spirit of Grace – a capella social justice singers and a special performative response from IWADDE, the Intergenerational Woman’s African Drum and Dance Ensemble.
The autobiographical stories were developed in a 24-week Motus Monologue process facilitated by Motus Theater’s Artistic Director, Kirsten Wilson and Transformative Healing Coach Wendy Talley. Monologues were written by Brenda Cisse, Candice Bailey, Colette Payne, Cynthia Randall, Marquitta Brown, Terri House, and Willette Benford in collaboration with Kirsten Wilson. Motus Boundless Truth monologists share personal stories of the racism, biases, and injustices within the criminal legal system.
