This special performance, A Tribute to Emery, honors the life and legacy of Emery Golson, whose unwavering support and belief in Andrea and Antonio, helped establish the first International BOCO Flamenco Festival in Boulder in 2023. Her deep love for the arts, dedication to community, and commitment to uplifting minorities left an indelible mark—one that we are honored to carry forward. In this year of her passing, we celebrate her radical spirit through the power of Flamenco.
Led by Vahagni, an Armenian-born, LA-raised guitarist, composer, and producer, the quartet will take you on a journey through Flamenco, Armenian folk, jazz, classical, and experimental soundscapes. With roots deeply embedded in Flamenco—studying in Andalucia under legends like Manolo Sanlucar and Paco Serrano—Vahagni has crafted a signature sound that transcends genres, weaving together his heritage and lifelong passion for the guitar.
Set in the stunning, acoustically rich Dairy Arts Center, this one-night-only performance promises fiery rhythms, raw emotion, and virtuosic artistry in honor of a woman whose love for the arts and community continues to inspire us all.
