Saturday, 08/20/22, 2:00PM & 7:00PM – BaoBao Foundation and director Adjei Abankwah proudly present “AYA”, A celebration of West African Music and Dance. A vibrant expression of color, sound, movement and spirit. Through traditional drumming, dancing, singing and storytelling, the audience will experience the richness of the culture and history of Africa.
AYA is the Ghanaian Adinkra symbol of the fern, a hardy plant, which represents resiliency and unwavering will. As the world begins to recover from the global pandemic, these special performances honor the triumph of the human spirit and together we will celebrate the joy of living.
BaoBao Foundation is welcoming guest artists, some of whom are former members of the Ghana National Dance Ensemble and other prestigious African performance groups. These artists will be joined by Boulder’s Mokomba Ensemble, for 2 shows at The Dairy Arts Center in Boulder, CO on August 20th at 2 and 7pm.
