$10 per ticket discount if you purchase tickets to both April 4th and April 5th performances. The International BOCO FLAMENCO Festival is proud to present world-renowned flamenco director, dancer & choreographer Antonio Canales in “La Guitarra Canta”.
“I want to present to you a very special concert, where I intend to highlight the importance of the guitar in the art of the flamenco universe. The guitar sings by herself, navigating over the ebony fingerboard that is inseparable from her, as if it were an avenue full of harmonies and black sounds.
Originally, flamenco singing was a heartbreaking and solitary cry, but with her, it becomes a beautiful symphony of strings and heart. That is why I wanted to bring to you, the youngest performers of the most substance that we currently have on the flamenco scene. Great virtuosos that will delight the viewer.” (Antonio Canales)
Antonio Canales was born in Seville in 1961, the son and grandson of flamenco artists. He began his career at the Spanish National Ballet, where he soon became the company’s solo dancer. He has shared the stage with figures of the category of Nureyev, Peter Schaufuss, Sylvie Guillem and Julio Bocca. His show ‘Torero’ was nominated for an Emmy award in 1995 and Antonio was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2020.
