Mark Villarreal has been an Abstract painter for over 35 years. After earning his BFA in studio art / painting, from the Kansas City Art Institute, he returned home to the front range of Colorado. Mark’s exhibition history includes the Denver Art Museum, Kirkland Museum, The Dairy, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, University of Colorado and the Sangre de Christo Art Center. In addition his paintings have been shown in commercial galleries in Denver and Santa Fe since 1985. Mark was one of the initial artists chosen for a public art commission at Denver International Airport.
Mark has been a resident of Boulder since 1999 and currently serves as the Chair of the Boulder Arts Commission.
