Development/Communications Manager

The DairyCenterfor the Arts is a 501(c)(3) corporation arts organization.  The Dairy is seeking an energetic, skilled Development/Communications Manager to coordinate fundraising and marketing activities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in fundraising, marketing, communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in fundraising appeals and press releases. Must be able to write creatively, and edit and proofread work.
  • Superb organizational and analytical skills to successfully execute multiple assignments with attention to detail—grace under pressure.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with donor databases, web content management and social media.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with staff, donors, media, and fellow non-profit organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Develop relationships and maintain communication with donors and prospects; securing, tracking and maintaining pledges/pledge payment records; overseeing acknowledgment process.
  • Produce database reports as needed.
  • Coordinate special events, including Gala.

Communications

  • Develop creative copy for press releases, brochures, event invitations, web posts, email blast campaigns, newsletters and collateral material.
  • Develop marketing campaigns for various projects.
  • Manage The Dairy website as well as social media sites.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with The Dairy’s staff, patrons, members, fans, performers, business and community partners through blogs, online and printed publications.
  • Maintain archival records.

 Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience. Full-time benefit package includes health, dental, and life insurances as well as paid vacation and holidays.  The Dairy employees also enjoy complimentary tickets to most performances at The Dairy theaters.  A background check is conducted prior to employment.
