The Dairy Center for the Arts has opened the application process for all gallery exhibits for 2011. The Dairy encourages artists who work in all visual art mediums to apply. The application deadline is midnight, April 9, 2010.
Description (Event Prospectus Information)
The Dairy Center for the Arts invites artists and art organizations from the United States and beyond to submit proposals for individual and group shows of any and all visual art mediums, for the year 2011. In addition, through The Dairy’s Colorado Community Curator (CCC) program, any Colorado resident may submit a proposal for a show which includes the work of artists from any state or any country. The person submitting the proposal will be considered the exhibitor and will be responsible for the exhibit as described in “Legal Agreement” in this prospectus.
Since 1997, The Dairy Galleries have grown in recognition throughout Colorado and the United States. The Dairy’s Visual Arts Committee, which is comprised of artists, university faculty, art collectors and members of The Dairy’s Board of Directors, juries proposals to create each year’s exhibition schedule of over 80 regional, national and international artists. In 2010, The Dairy will host eighteen shows in its three gallery spaces.
The Dairy Center for the Arts is a non-profit cultural arts organization housed in the historic Watts-Hardy Dairy building, which once operated as a dairy storage and processing plant. In addition to the Galleries, The Dairy is home to more than a dozen premier resident arts organizations. Each year 150,000 people come to The Dairy to experience visual art, dramatic theater, comedy, live music, film and dance through exhibits, classes, workshops, and performances.
We currently use CaFE, an on-line site, for all applications. To apply to the Galleries at The Dairy, go to www.callforentry.org, create your own free account, and click on “Apply to Calls.” Look for “Dairy Center for the Arts (The) 2011.” This will take you directly to the legal agreement portion (which will apply only in the event that your proposal is accepted by the jury). At the bottom of the agreement page, you will find a button to select “I agree.” You will be directed to the complete application at that point.
